Comic TIme

Comic

First I apologize for the lack of posts, however if you follow me on Twitter you'll at least know that I am not off the grid.

You could say I got more responsibilities in life. And that has made me learn about so much stuff. About politics, economics, science, and why I really loved Engineering in the first place. This gave me a reason to write passionately about things unrelated to the theme of this blog. I tried to write about phones, about anything, but I just couldn't. Soon, I will change the theme of this blog to include all the topics I care about, because we are all complete personalities, and my ever-growing socialist self is taking over.

But before I do that, I decided to start a small comic about Happy Wars, and I will reference my favorite games and anime there, probably. It's just for fun. SO here are the first two entries.

I intend to animate and even voice act a little main story if I get as far as to start the main plot, which is ridiculous and not in any way serious.

Thanks so much for keeping the blog alive, and my minecraft texture pack is still being updated. This time it will be a massive update. NO screenshots though! XD

Reality of Minecraft Servers

Reality of Minecraft Servers

So much has been going on, and I lost all the partial files of my texture pack, so I fell into playing Minecraft for a while, and so on. I noticed there are a lot of unsaid things about Minecraft, so I decided to say them here.
 protect it already!

Minecraft cannot fit only in the sandbox or indie genre, it is also an MMO, a MOBA, survival horror, RPG, FPS. You name it and Minecraft is that genre. Bukkit was really the best mod experiment to be created and used by servers. But sometimes, servers limit the game so and it rarely looks like a game anymore just a gallery of images.

some people..

I am looking at you overrated factions PVP servers. You need to walk for an hour in order to find unclaimed land, and nothing is fun in that. If you are lucky, you get one of two people at spawn. Type 1 are the dreaded noob callers who think they have the right to spawn kill you just because you are new to the server. Sure, there are safe zones but they don’t really prevent that much. It’s kind of like that episode in Log Horizon where the cat and the red girl were walking out of town and seeing the spawn killers unable to do anything until they cross the safe line. Not helpful.

The second type are the charitable giving type. They stand at spawn and throw 5000 stacks of diamond and act really friendly to the new comers but they do not realize how giving an unfair advantage to the ones currently online could be trouble to the rest, because you are saving trolls and spawn killers the hours that would otherwise make them give up. Coming from an ex-troll, mark my words, trolls are impatient. If they don’t climb their way through the server’s economy by “kind” people or bullying kids on chat to have them forfeit their items, cheap killing, and verbal abuse, they’ll leave the server and forget about trolling in it. Don’t help people until they prove potential. I only mean this in video games, not real life!
Monetised MOBA everywhere.

Other than faction servers are the MOBA games, which start out very creative. MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, popular servers include Uberminecraft, HiveMC famous for its Blockparty. They are extremely creative, but it sucks to see a game die out, like spleef :’( and replaced with other laggy games (splegg I’m looking at you ). Sure, the new plugin introduction to games is cool, some games have potential, but these servers are all increasingly competitive and player-heavy, where the plugin developer is the one who makes the rules to the game. Good to kill time sometime, but may be the next Call of Duty online phenomenon.
some people... x2

That said though, I do not feel addicted to MOBA Minecraft. Most modern servers (not exclusive factions) mix a global economy, some MOBA/ minigames, and some MMO games, like prison, factions (again) or something special like My little pony, Breaking Bad (mafia craft) or Skyrimcraft (which didn’t satisfy me, by the way). These servers try to mix in a lot and manage so many minigames at once. One has got to be appreciative of these amazing feats of holding the server together, always having a mod online.
don't hate the game hate the player. what?

But for once, I longed for a real Minecraft experience. You just spawn in a random place and there are no claimed lands. I am not saying no bukkit entirely but the real McMMO needs to let me edit terrain as I please. Kill as I please. Live dangerously as I please. Don’t protect me from PVP, but at the same time, allow me to protect a small amount of land, not huge chunks of factions. I’ve tried Skyblock, but that doesn’t seem right (and again, I was trolled) so I finally found survival, NOT survival games (Hunger games MOBA). And one where I got a good chance too. Lichcraft has real survival that works, even though the servers are full half the day, and in next month, I won’t be online until the time where it’s full. I am in no way advertising servers, but these are all just suggestions for you to find your perfect playstyle. If Skyrimcraft fixes the skyrim part, I’d play it. But for now, I changed my top server.
i am having deja vu here for some reason..

If you know of any worthy servers that entertain you/take all of your free time? If so, mention them in the comments! I am looking for the perfect server, and might video the best server. Until then, Play More Zelda!

Zelda Month: Let the Selfies Begin

Zelda Month: Let the Selfies Begin

Since it is Zelda month, as inspired by PBG, it seems logical that I write an article about Zelda, considering that I didn't write any article since a very long time. For that I apologize, but I have another alternative. My youtube channel is becoming populated with more videos, so you might want to check it out for my fail at gameplay. If I ever start doing a Zelda Let's Play, I'll mention it here too.

That aside, instead of leaving this post empty I got a fantastic idea to make a competition between Zelda fans on Twitter using the hashtag #windwakerselfie. Post the funniest selfie you got and the one with the most retweets wins! isn't that a cool idea? I might even post all the entries on my blog at the end of the month, and the winner gets.. well honor and glory, my friend, honor and glory.

Also, I am planning to make a Majora's Mask gameplay series this month considering that the 3D remake is confirmed, but just when I  figure out how to capture the full screen of it... Also, the Wii is not with me right now so I cannot record the awesome Skyward Sword for now.

But please check out my youtube channel! It's a gaming channel that took away most of my time that I used to post on this blog, but in no way am I planning to forget my blog! You are my real audience, my real viewers, and the youtube was just because of lack of time, that I need to game and post on the internet, so I thought, why not both? However, when I get a good time to write (I am actually hesitant to show you a really good idea that is unrelated to technology aka the theme of the blog) I will! Thank you all for supporting me this far.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Theory

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Theory

With Sledgehammer’s first Call of Duty development for the next generation of consoles, there is a lot of speculation on what the fourth game mode is beside campaign, multiplayer, and exoskeleton modes. “Fourth game mode” refers to the intense survival with waves of immoral mobs that do not use CoD’s traditional weaponry, Just like Black Ops 2’s Zombie mode and Ghosts’ Extinction. Will there be one?

Knowing Call of Duty gaming style, the fact that you picked this up to read it means you are that curious, so I’ll keep it short: The mobs of terror in this game will be humanoid beasts that follow the Japanese’s magic-girl robot culture. However since they’ll be humanoid (i.e. flesh limbs) the closest thing they’ll be to current scale is the Final Fantasy XIII’s Ghast:
some old fashioned RPG magic

Now that you are reading further, here is the proof or evidence that backs the theory. In the Western culture, after zombies and aliens, there’s only vampires, and we all know that for Activision to add vampirism is to spell its doom. It is illogical to even collect this much vampires unless a single bite is fatal, in which they are exactly like zombies in their mechanics.
vampire in skyrim is humanoid

Magic “robot” is new to the table, plus the baddies will be able to use melee and middle ranged attacks with an endless list of possibilities. So why “robot”? Because this is usually the back story for their origin. A big AI had the power to mutate all humans in a village to turn into magical beasts that follow the robot’s will. They will be armed with a short ranged laser from their stomach and will look ugly. They’ll be slow, having a livelier skin color than zombies, and having extreme lack of recognition skills or morality. They’ll charge right at you with the intent of turning you into roasted robot breakfast.
the father of android
gotta love the standard knightmare frames

The reason behind these would be the screenshots. They are a little bit futuristic like Halo, but they already covered aliens in the previous game.

What do you think? Would you believe this theory? I guess we'll find out when the game rolls in. Until Then!

Is the gaming community oppressive?

Is the gaming community oppressive?

The internet may be known for its trolls, heated debates about religion and politics, but gamers also use the internet, even if in a different way. Here’s what I think gamers, me included, do wrong in the world we are building. They may be wrong, so feel free to judge.

With game developers and server owners limiting the control and creating non-existent rules on the internet, it is quite surprising how so many of gamers still think that they are the cool rule breakers and the dangerous ones on the web. Nowadays, a lot of gamers know a little bit of coding, or they can just have a cheat engine, and think hacking in-game can also make them the top elite of the gaming community, when in fact, admins can just ban them and these “hackers” won’t work their way back with the same username.

On the contrary, I’ve seen a lot of people kissing up to sys admins and in-game admins to the point of slavery just so they can get perks like own a land close to spawn or get to use military grade weapons, secure a place in a tournament or even (not saying names) work their way up in the hall of fame for no reason. That’s lame. Sure, admins should get some thank-yous for their long hours of coding (I’ve once had to take care of two servers for a week) and trying to juggle all the problems in real-time, but some admins just buy a server from a hosting service that does all that for you. Maybe at the beginning of time admins were nerds who wanted total power over something, but now they are social animals like us too and do not need to be worshipped.

Then there are the people who like to play with a twist: mods everywhere and all these complicated registration rules on servers. I’d rather study calculus than know the history of your father’s father’s father, and how in 1888 there was a guy who changed your life forever that’s why I need to change my skin to enter this lobby. Really, thank you for making matchmaking possible, and for having a good playerbase, but make it easy and quick for me to go anywhere! Also, I do not like the “wait for admin” button that people use when they are angry at my attitude.

Now onto developers, and their three new discriminations: region, internet speed, game rep. They hate and love people based on these three factors more than they should hate cheaters, or how we hate griefers.

Region restriction is the new racism, and not just for games: for any downloads. In a world where it’s easy to travel anywhere, and where anime such as Log horizon portray gamers as people who don’t like classification, how ironic is it that we cannot download certain software simply because of our IP. It’s really turning down a lot of potential customers to anything and extremely frustrating for travelers or people with friends in different countries that can’t all use the same service at once.

so much real time

The game reputation is probably the only way developers recognize and eliminate griefers and bad sports. It started out entirely based on the community so it does require people who report are unbiased, and gladly, it works miraculously. However, it does kind of mean that if in GTA 5 you are a “bad” person and then went to the “jail” servers for two weeks, you are more likely to friend “bad” people (seriously who is “bad” and “good” in criminal game) from the bad people’s servers then when you can go back to ordinary lobbies you will end up going back to the bad sport lobbies a lot more frequently because even if you want to start a new life, you kind of can’t. It’s worse than fearing to put your real name online because now your game name that you cannot change since you paid a lot of money for all the virtual game library you own -cannot start over - are now stuck with these labels. Permanent ban from Minecraft servers are kind of the same thing. Your name is now something you must protect, which kind of reduces the fun of hearing people rage.

 no can do

Then the last type of “discrimination” which is a silent suffering, and that is internet speed and lag. You’ve probably suffered lag before, been kicked from a lobby once, but believe me some people have it way worse. Servers with anti-cheating code kick people with significant lag for suspected teleportation. If people are around, you may get reported and eventually banned forever.

from otakudaydreams.wordpress.com

“I’m scared to make friends and promises on skyblock servers because I can’t use the internet.” My friend, who only plays skyblock, once told me I never understood what she meant until I joined a skyblock server with her. She takes the emeralds and then can’t buy with them because the villager’s trading HUD doesn’t open.

Apparently, Microsoft hates people with bad internet speed. If you’ve played the console version of Happy Wars, you’ll see an entire team rush out to build towers and completely annihilate the enemy with epic meteor showers while one guy with the speed of a snail is going to build a ballista in the main tower. Even though this is under the excuse that other players don’t lag, but occasionally the game suddenly ends or does these PC version bugs like towers not responding thing. Most people would think that this is a claptrap argument, and that other players don’t have to deal with this, but losing league points because your DSL doesn’t connect is too much. Penalties are good motivators, but they should be smarter in their penalty system.

 who's happy now?

Going to the title, is the gaming community oppressive? We only pretend there is no rules when there is too many? We pretend there is no kingship when we are participating in making people look more important than us? I don’t know, and this is kind of why I only join servers for minigames in Minecraft. With the exception of Watch dogs’ online feature (you’re all notoriety points thieves anyway), most online games do have worrying issues like griefers and cheaters, but does this really mean that all of our gameplay is affected and all of us suspected of being bad people just because of a high internet traffic on a few days? Tell me your opinion in the comments.

Where Hyrule Warriors Should Have Been in the Zelda Timeline

Where Hyrule Warriors Should Have Been in the Zelda Timeline

Personally, I am convinced that Hyrule Warriors should be after Skyward Sword. The problem with this that there is not enough in-game proof.

The main reason for this suggestion is that Skyward Sword is the only time when Hyrule itself does not have Zelda as its princess, i.e. the kingdom is not actually established yet. During Skyward Sword’s events, Zelda is a student in the knight academy, which means, she is training to fight. Let’s say after the events of the game, humans descend to Earth and make Hyrule Kingdom, just as the timeline says.

When any kingdom is first formed, the king usually claims his land by conquering it, like a general of war kind of king. That would explain why Zelda is a PC like Link. That is what makes me believe that Hyrule Warriors is after Skyward Sword by quite a while.

Another piece of evidence is this Link’s resemblance to Link in SS prequel manga. Link has a new look in every game, but Link usually looks similar to his image of hero at that time. At first, I thought it would mean that this game is way before Skyward Sword itself when they used to live on the ground normally, but Hyrule’s existence proves otherwise.

The main problem this theory faces is Midna (also that it’s too short). Just like how the Impa tribe was living on the ground during the time of Skyward Sword, the shadow tribe of Midna’s would also be there, right? What about Midna’s lifespan? What about the events that lead to Majora’s Mask’s escape from that tribe? It’s too much of an assumption. Also, by that point in time, Midna has never met TP Link, so how did she know that she can turn a human into a wolf? Assuming she can, that is.

As much as I’d like this theory, as much as I’d have to dismiss it. It does explain new Link’s design and the fact that Skyward Sword enemies are there (still no time for them to become extinct yet) but it has its holes.

This is a part 2 of the previous article, which discusses Hyrule Warriors' location in the timeline if it were canon. Play More Zelda!

Hyrule Warriors Timeline Position

Hyrule Warriors Timeline Placement

Spoiler Warning: Skyward Sword, Ocarina Of Time, and Fire Emblem Awakening are mentioned here.

It’s almost time for the first console Zelda game to be released after Hyrule Historia revealed to us the timeline. This game is a collaboration between Techmo Koei and Nintendo, where the games are slightly similar… actually, it’s a lie.

As you are all aware Keoi’s Dynasty Warriors involves a single man against a ridiculously colossal mob of human enemies, accompanied by other generals of the same caliber. If you’ve never owned a Playstation, but have a 3DS, try Chronicles: Samurai Warriors. It’s the most recent Koei game I’ve played and will base the rest of comparisons on.

Just from the beginning, it seems that this will be a very unique game. But judging from the screenshots, you’d probably say otherwise. The enemies Link faces are all demons, no humans here, but these demons are personified to have emotions like fear and retreat, as mentioned before.
does this look like the face of mercy? I know it doesn't make sense.

However, from just scratching the surface, what about the generals of the same caliber? The uniquely cool playable characters fill that role, right? Does that mean that these characters were, say, candidates for becoming the hero of time and bearing the triforce of Courage? At this late stage you’d think possibly not, but do not rule it out. Especially since Skyward Sword reveals that Zelda is Hylia. So it is possible that this Zelda chose all these as candidates. Because both Link and Zelda look like “fighters” such as the tactician of CSW. Which automatically means all other PCs have something special to be added. This is a very special roster, and their back stories have to be satisfying.

You probably want to hear where it should land in the timeline, assuming a non-canon Zelda game would land there. Before we can get there, we have to observe all the other obvious differences that Dynasty Warriors and Zelda have, and see what the development teams have stitched those patches with. Only then can the story become clear.
from zeldadungeon

   Post-OoT:
First in the background of earlier screenshots, it is very clear that there is a castle that looks exactly like Ocarina of Time’s castle, but from Zelda’s character art, it is impossible that OOT’s adult timeline is the setting because during OOT’s lifespan, it is awkward for the princess to do any fighting. Fighting princesses are fantasy in that era. We can clearly lock out the other two timelines because then none of the guards would know Link in the Child Era and the castle would be in ruins in the final branch of the timeline.

The next obvious think is characters from Twilight Princess are there, so the setting is probably post-TP during the same Link’s lifespan, right? Then where is immediate wolf transformation button? Since this is a non-canon game that probably will make it to the timeline, all of the current Link’s possible powers and tools have to be fully utilized, in order to emphasize on which Link it is. However, this Link has a piece of clothing very similar to the pre-SS manga thus cannot be the same protagonist of TP. If he was, Ordon children would be present, and Ilia too.

Another hint in TP is that there are reused characters in general. Skull Kid was originally of OoT but even though according to Nintendo hints outside the actual game plot (i.e. through Navi text and manga) that this is the exact same Skull Kid since he has a long life span, there is no indication that he truly is since he is greatly retextured.

In Japanese culture, and throughout the Zelda franchise, people are re-incarnated, which is why Link, Zelda, and Ganon have the same role and similar looks throughout the series. It is highly likely that Agitha is an incarnation too.

The main hint that we can draw a conclusion that it is likely not before Twilight Princess in any way is Midna. As other rumors speculate, the evil tribe of Majora’s Mask is the same of Midna’s tribe, which means, any sooner than OoT in the timeline and there is a chance that Midna was a human of that tribe at that time. Since this is true, and Midna was not revealed until TP, it is also slightly possible that Twilis have short life spans (though I do not believe it) so it has to be the same Midna.

A rather paradoxical part that makes it actually not fit in the time line at all is the fact that these are Skyward Sword enemies. However thanks to a hint from Fire Emblem Awakening’s Risen and time hopping theory such a paradox can exist.

Conclusion: If this game were to fit in the timeline it would be after Twilight Princess, but not during TP Link’s life. Unless it is outside Hyrule or somehow the Twilight Realm’s borders are able to warp the SS enemies that actually are living in a place outside Hyrule at that point in time. There could be a new era between TP and Four Swords Adventures. Play More Zelda!

The new article is almost ready, but doesn’t make any sense, so I decided to go with a Zelda rumor instead. I wish to publish my own story on my blog in parts, but the first few parts of the story have absolutely nothing to do with technology. That’s why I do not write articles. I may decide on publishing it eventually. There is a Facebook Page with more short content sometime, as well as a Portal 2 map.

Why Oculus opened RakNet

Why Oculus opened RakNet

image from digitaltrends

My predictions were right on the spot, again as expected. Allow me to use this entire paragraph as proving that my fortune-telling skills were right and to celebrate this yet again.

Now that boasting is over, let’s get right back on topic. Why did Oculus make RakNet open source the moment they bought it? Well, the obvious benefit is encouraging more developers, which would bring indie developers, more attention from developers’ fans and novice developers, and more importantly, modders. These are the groups of the gaming society that usually come first, then gamers come hurrying along, but only a good bunch of them have gathered like bees on nectar.

Expanding the games library is very crucial step towards actually becoming the new Xbox or DS. Speaking of Xbox, RakNet is also what Sony’s Virtual Reality headset, Project Morpheus uses. Cross-platform online games could become more powerful, more interactive, more always online. This would also mean ease in cross-platform releases, so that Oculus can reach Sony’s fanbase too, since developers will be encouraged to make games for Oculus they’d also be willing to make it compatible with Japan’s dominant gaming console (even if VR doesn’t catch on now, by logic, there is a huge existing dedicated gamers for Sony more than Oculus). Xbox has a lot to catch up on now!

Here lies a question that only you can answer: can Oculus be trusted? After Facebook bought it, Facebook probably want to expand its test subject base to a group that will not escape so easily. After Facebook’s famous psychology experiment involving two colleges, can we really trust them?

It is a shame to admit, but we gamers have problems with “escaping” a game, because most people who play games at some point say they use it to escape reality. If you begin to play this virtual reality game, you escape reality even more than just the screen. Even without the screen, gamers can go to extreme levels just to make sure that at the end of the day, they’ll have 4 hours of gameplay uninterrupted, even going into fire to save one’s Xbox. A single player life simulation game can easily let me lose track of time, but multiplayer is worse, because it involves real human rivals for resources.

Simulations were always used in special training, pilots being one good example to test these equipment, thus assessment criteria was obviously well established a long time before we even heard of virtual reality. Consequently, it will be so easy to test your reactions, train you for more puzzle solving, or just simply make a gigantic maze game that is the exact replica of a lab rat’s and measure the differences in speed of figuring out that you needed to push the ball uphill or something (bonus points for fMRI).

Even in an MMO, everyone eventually passes by the same quests, and it is easy to draw a pattern in the sequence of these quests, and from them give a conclusion on what kind of test would suit this user more than the next. It would also say a lot about behavior, cleverness (been so long since I used that word) and potentially expose you to be “sold” to other scientists who only want a certain group for testing (e.g. people with higher IQ, people who didn’t flee the first time they entered the boss room, etc.) or more realistic stuff, like whether you are fit in real life, real life depression, age group, smoking, sensitivity to loud sounds (that’s actually a thing) and so on.

The best part of this to the scientists is that they can zip through all the legal stuff and test. Gamers are like real prisoners now, because they are actually there in real time, with all external factors excluded. Imagine this: would you look away when you see something twice your size, or did you accidently click on the controller because your brother threw his toy at you? Most probably the former, because your parents won’t even leave you disconnected so much for you to even get that far in the game to become worthy of holding the title of Test Subject in the first place. Unlike social media, logging out is not so simple. There will probably be so much to lose when you do that: hourly events such as Bonus Time in Happy Wars, penalty for death.
I am using the word test subject for a reason!

These little little candy are what keep us continuing on and on, because in online games, it’s a race, and usually the one with less life wins, gets to spawn kill higher level monsters all the time and boss around a group of midgets to PK anyone who gets close to his hunting grounds. Then when he’s done, he PKKs them and comes back to town as the rich hero of high reputation, and anyone who says the truth are just haters who will be treated like mute criminals forever.

Other players are aware of that, and won’t give up the race so easily. That’s why they’ll grind and grind in a real time system that would feel like labor and go on for real life days. These people are the most vulnerable to testing, because we all know that even when they realize that the game is messing with them, they are not ready to log off and check the forums, because they are willing to forgive the game for this “bug” and that “glitch” just because he’s grown attached to his new toon and has to make it stronger as soon as possible before surprising others.

Going back to the original question, will we really trust Oculus after Facebook acquired it? Let us know your opinion in the comments. Don’t forget to read the last choose-your-death article, because there might be more. Play More Zelda!

Nintendo's E3: Captain Toad announced

If you are not familiar with who captain Toad is, then allow me to explain. In Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, he used to be a person with his crew (all different colours and personalities) that appear in certain levels to give you hints. In the first Galaxy game they could move into the observatory. However, in 2 they became a lot more interesting, with the Captain of their iconic ship being a big coward. It's coming December 2014. Yay! I can't wait to control an even more bigger coward than Luigi.

A complete new Zelda in 2015 is announced, which is cool. Hyrule Warriors is more exciting for me, because I like Techmo's games in general as well. The new Zelda has a new graphics and possibly a wider area. Just look at how everyday Link has a plastic surgery!!

Apparently they got bored from Mario, and they are making a Mario Maker on Wii U for 2015 as well. It has a cool switch between retro and new, and the grid looks really versatile, allowing a lot of room for creativity.

All in all, I am not excited about the Wii U. At first, I wanted it, but only when there is an extensive library of games that I want. This might change my mind, but I also want Final Fantasy and Elder Scrolls to change my mind as well. I hope this E3 changes my mind.

Don't forget to watch the whole stream of all E3, here.

Apparently, a new character is in Super Smash Bros. I won't ruin it because it's cool. By the way, are they planning to make an anime?

Apparently they are inviting people for a tournament in real life.

Watch E3 now

It's E3! I can't wait to watch everything and talk about it. I was watching the stream of EA from their own twitch, but you go ahead and watch all the E3 twitch streams from one video channel.

Watch live video from Twitch on www.twitch.tv

I was watching EA and they were talking about battlefield. They had a #BFhardline (not sure) hashtag going on. They said you can download the beta? They had a rooftop and people playing under the sun. They announced Dawngate after that, a PC MMORPG such as aria games style and bastion artsyle. Just like the ones that anime uses.

Everything looks nice so far. I find it weird that they will enter the online games market, because it's really different than shooters, sports games, and everything else they've done so far. These games don;t focus on quality but tend to have trumendos amounts of mesh to take up you PC usage anyway, which makes them bland. If it had 1st person view then I'd understand the seemingly useless attempts in quality, but I am very excited to see what will they do.

I don't have much time to talk about the whole E3, but I might soon. Keep Playing Zelda

Short Announcement

Short Announcement

First, I cannot post something lately, so you might want to enjoy some other post, click randomly on any word in this sentence and you will check an article that has less views so you probably have not read, or even a popular post. Note: this post is rushed and not really planned.

Second, I'd like to share some changes that I made to my twitch. I tried to upload a picture for my channel when it is offline, and a banner for my profile to invite more people to the blog. I am not always that good at making fake photoshop pictures or even a little photo editing, but I am also not that bad. I used a picture of a cannibalistic zombie giving his back to the sunset, and staring into the dark future that I use as a desktop background. Relax, it's Minecraft, and it's my own texture pack so it is a salesman holding dog food.

Now the dimensions were frustrating, and not all of it was visible in both the banner and the channel, so I changed it for the channel so the main parts show, but I'll post the original on that I put for the banner here:

I became a PC gamer, and I'm planning to buy Skyrim again for the PC all so that I can broadcast about it. Find me next month on Twitch! I also linked it to my Twitter, both under the name BluecometZola. I might try to use youtube, but really I want to save all my internet speed for Twitch. If I do, I will write it down.

I'd like to hear your opinion on the banner. I was in a rush, and didn't know where to mention Zelda, since I am not planning to broadcast it.

I tried to make a picture of myself in third person, and I set up quartz blocks and redstone torches while I looked upwards like a glorious leader. but I did not know how to take such screenshot (i.e. without looking into the camera), so I discarded the idea. Maybe next time.

Yes I am planning to play Borderlands 2. I have the game, and I am trying to fit some time for a sound test. I might even make an outro/intro for myself. Now, I am also not that good in editing audio clips, but I am also not that bad. I played Borderlands 2 on Xbox, and I will start on PC. Any more and I'll reveal a secret that I want to keep for the broadcast!

That's all for now. Check in next month for Twitch. I will post on this blog when I do. Thank you all for the views! I am now (I always was?) officially an internet beggar and proud of it.

Happy Wars Random Diary

Happy Wars Random Diary

I play a lot of Happy Wars (I'm BluecometZola), and it could be the only reason I buy Gold every year. But with the updates and then the Season 2, there have been a lot of changes, but not just in the game itself. People act a lot differently as well, in response. Trying to put that in chronological order is very funny. So here goes nothing:
DLC shield

The No0b Era
The update that brought 3 characters in every class came with a big no0b identification system: clothes. Prior to the update any new player would come with the only character in each class wearing the only set they ever have, but thanks to the update, I began seeing people without even weapons playing a quick match! That was really frustrating since the game depends on teamwork, but thankfully there is a good way to spread out the newbs in each team, except that they weren’t newbs. They were actually enjoying ruining the game by not co-operating. So it’s either you’re on the lucky team or everything is on your shoulders. The only good thing is that they’re easy to kill, however the bots did not assist at all.
Minecraft pickaxe

Team Skill Era
Ragequitting at its finest. The lobbies were empty of real players, only containing what’s worse than no0bs and hackers: EXP grinders. Not the stereotypical hardcore gamers of the classical JRPG genre, but ones that remain in the castle the whole match just to use team skills (Y commands). It was from both teams as well. As if a peace treaty was formed, they all remained in their respective castles to keep people like me from ending the match before the 15 minute mark, so they can summon tornados to break their ballistae as soon as they are formed while the next meteor storm charges up. Despite all that, they were easy to destroy, but there’s no fun in being MVP every match, so I stopped playing Happy Wars for a while too.
flag?

Decline Era
The update before before the Season Two returned the 15 people policy, and there were hackers on the servers, Quite annoying ones actually. After that update, servers were kind of laggy as well. I felt discouraged to play, especially that hackers are spoil sports, except that the only thing that was fun is hearing them yell in the lobby after the match when I actually defeat them, and that wasn’t an easy feat.
"spartan"

Co-op Era
Finally everybody like Co-op again! Minecraft and chicken mode have been special additions to Co-op mode and it was a great time. I miss the chicken legs tower defense mode, and the Hard mode was really tough. If someone from the Happy Wars team is reading this, add it forever as a separate mode!
warrior. I only play for missions

Berserk Era
Three words: I hate berserks. But now I am used to them. I think this is to the fact that Season Two was reviewed positively and had a great amount of improvements. It gained a lot of popularity and usually I choose the cleric, but I found myself getting MVP a lot with the new Engineer class. The new classes also encouraged me to try the Mage class, with my previously salvaged creeper helmet for the wizard, to destroy the Gatling guns above the enemy castle. I think in general Season Two utilised the abilities of every class and gave them distinctive skills to excel in their own field.
old magician. Still use the creeper hat

Guild Era
Also known as parties, without the clan tags in Call of Duty, some people actually dedicate their Gamertag to their clan, which feels funny, like a series of Gundam models. Series like BrzT and Elite are all very funny and enjoyable to play with or against, as these people show distinctive unity and special techniques that rival Naruto’s ninja style. For a long time, I’ve wished to have that too. I would’ve liked to be the cleric and have a magician by my side to destroy the ballistae above while I build a ladder, and not some AI who helps the enemy destroy the wall enclosure which I build. As my avatar would say: “Formidable foes indeed!”

engineer class: wind waker eyes and deku leaf shield

These are just some misadventures of Happy Wars, and I really like it that I even recorded some random time of me playing it a long while ago. I may even share it one day.
hooray for full lobbies.

If there is any suggestions that I’d like to have for Happy Wars, it’s to add bonus time to other modes as well, and count the loot as bonus time even if we started 1 minute before bonus time (if bonus time started when we are in the middle of the match), also not to make all the headgear covering the hair (Even though the train set looks good) because that’s just ugly. My warrior looks really unattractive with a helmet covering the whole head. My third cleric deliberately has a weak hat… because when equipped with the flag it’s fun to look at the contrast of colours when I change the view to top-down at the desert stage. Likewise, as mentioned above, add the tower defense mode as a separate mode.
you can be on the losing team and still be MVP

Sorry that this is such a short article, but I want to prepare for something bigger. It could be anything that I have or haven’t promised you, thus I have to keep my promises. Read a random article about Xbox here, and read the previous article here. Play More Zelda!

Top 5 game-related Android apps

Top 5 game-related Android Apps

We all want to have those breaking the fourth wall moments, and with Google Glass, and other items which I have previously mentioned, making its way onto our heads it just might be possible that we are all characters in a game, right?

Well, maybe not, but instead of utility apps that enhance your smartphone's performance, why not list apps that enhance your life as a gamer? Check the list to find what you need!

it really works

This is a simple app, free, with no shady conditions like GPS or phone contacts, and is very straightforward. It basically has AR card images, so that you don't need to carry the AR cards for your 3DS whenever you just want to show off in public. I take my 3DS and phone with me wherever I go, so this proves quite useful. But if you want to ask why a minimalist app makes it into the list is because it has the useful brightness setting, and it never lets the screen lock. I find the brightness setting very convenient than the android gallery, because sometimes I need to instantaneously change brightness without leaving the picture when light level around the room changes. The only drawback is that not all the cards work perfectly.

Want to fill the Pokedex 3D app you got from the 3DS eshop? Well this buddy gives you all the QR codes that you need. Helps for showing off your daily dedication and completion to the eshop app, so don't tell anyone you have this app! A lot of people around me used it too. It isn't really a spoiler.

3- PokeCalc (Calculator for IV training)

When I think of Pokemon, I think of this app. It calculates the stats of your pokemon so that you can IV at your own method. Many guides that tell you how to IV are not very useful, so its best that you decide your own methods. No spoilers here then!

For solo, I play the video games, but nothing beats playing with people cards that took you years of collection, in real life. When playing in real life, a paper and pen quickly becomes a habit, but it is growing out of style. Especially if I always forget the pen every time.
As a result, 3 out of 4 of every match has turned into a "You added 200LP to yourself just now!" and "Since when were my points like this?" and "Did you change our score when I went for a break?" and even pen & paper didn't solve this issue. However this app is very useful, and especially if the phone user locks with a PIN, then nobody gets hurt. Except cheaters. Like me. Whoops!

Explaining this app in a few words, it is a calculator, with 2 players, very simple, very easy, and quite handy. Might as well wrap your smartphone inside the rubber band where you put your cards and playing field together!

I am new to HabitRPG, but it has a lot of features. The first ones you might notice are your EXP and reward system. The very reason we all get addicted to RPGs, just so that we can equip that stronger shield, we keep doing repetitive tasks of destroying the same monsters in a spawn-trapping dungeon.

And that's exactly what you are doing here. Except that you won't get a shiny Hylian shield at the end of the day, but you will give yourself privileges to watch a movie or etc. Its a self-reward system, but 8-bit. It is somehow like a calendar too.

One drawback is that there is something wrong with the android app currently, so you should open from web browser to edit profile or join a party. But the solo campaign of your life is still fully functional from the app. Good luck, young adventurers in your quest to find the Master Sword (or lose weight).

Did you enjoy the list? I was thinking of making Top 5 video game guides on android so that developers can get inspired. One thing I wish for any android developer to make is a tracker for harvest moon Sunshine Islands crops. Maybe that'll be too complex, but sometimes I need it if I stop playing for 2 days, because then I forget what I did in-game. Maybe I'll program it myself. But I am still learning programming from the very BASIC. Get it? On that side note, I don't cheat in Yugioh, well, most of the time. It depends on what we bet before the match. But you don't have to know that. Why not try this for playing online? Play More Zelda!

Milk, Water, Lava, Bucket

Milk, Water, Lava, Bucket

What should I do? I am trying to edit all of the items of the game. So the bucket should look like the milker, the water bucket should look like the green watering can, the milk should look like the traditional milk bottle, and the lava is just a re-texture of the original milk tank. Right?
milker and shears

Maybe not. Because the original texture looks more top-down and it doesn't match the theme of the rest of the texture pack. I don't want to copy-paste the textures, that's why I am making my own ideas. But instead of drifting off, I decided to stick to the original a little bit:

The one in the middle is the original texture with the original dimensions. The one at the left is the one I should be using since theoretically it resembles the original, but the one on the right is the one I am going to use. Unless you wanted a different thing then specify in the comments.

Also, I was thinking that the water bucket is not the watering can, but rather just like the lava, but then again it wouldn't make sense.

The rest of the items are a secret (for now), but meanwhile, check out Mine Little Pony for 1.6.4 Forge! It's really good. Also here is a few of my misadventures with 1.7.2 with the new summon command.
