Anime Review: Aldnoah.Zero

Aldnoah.Zero Review

“Another weird anime with punctuation marks in its name” is the first thing that came to mind. I liked .hack but still, it was different but lacked unique. If you are ready to watch an anime that you don’t really know what to expect, then Aldnoah.Zero is for you.

Story: 7/10
I was surprised by how good this was. First the characters don’t seem very well developed nor do they relate to the viewer, and that is what makes them a lot more realistic in the fact that all characters have a deep emotional side story, and even if it didn’t get covered on the screen, it actually happened. The way characters act in the time of crisis should be unpredictable, but this random flow of emotions is really well portrayed here.

Also, despite the main protagonist being a guy, there is a surprisingly huge number of female cast in this anime, but not enough to completely erase all romantic aspects of the main lead. This is both good and bad, but again it failed to pull me in towards the protagonist’s inner struggles, if he had any.

Music: 4/10
Taste in music is a personal opinion, but I find the opening annoying, but including the ending theme in some cutscenes – er, I meant climax scenes? - makes it worthwhile.

Artstyle: 10/10
Come on, this was made in 2014. Not much senseless censorship like Black Cat or Tokyo Ghoul, and the world was very inclusive. Some scenes had cliché camera angles which really give the retro feel of the old anime, while not looking boring at the same time. The animation was smooth, the boring robots had smooth motion cycles, etc.

Overall: 7/10
There are many points that do not make sense (such as the infinite repair supplies, anyone?) but overall this is a good anime to watch if you want something that tries to be unique like Code Geass did, and didn’t fail nor succeed, like Code Geass did as well. That said, it is quite from everything else you’ve watched, and if you like tactics, Aldnoah stresses on points never explored in anime and difficult to find even in a video game.

I wish they make an action-RPG with this, because seriously this anime if filled with things comparable to video games. Play More Zelda!

Tokyo Goul No Spoiler Review

Tokyo Ghoul No-spoilers Review

As this is literally the first anime I watch episode by episode instead of wait for the episodes to accumulate and watch when the last episode airs, you can tell that it is no ordinary anime. In this review, I will try to be as brief as possible, with no spoilers.

If you have heard about Tokyo Ghoul, then you have obviously heard the impatient fans urging anyone to read the manga and forget the anime. There are other fans, including me, who would suggest that you don’t watch the anime until the uncensored version is released on the internet, because the version right now is the TV-approved version. However, the rising DDoS attacks should be enough reason for you to disregard this message and watch right now.

A problem with trying to describe an anime like this without spoilers, is that it is slightly unique in the way the story is portrayed.

Synopsis: With enemies of humanity against every corner, the battle between the hunter and the hunted intensifies as more factions crop up, all with the desire to gain control over humanity. But the hunters have yet to realize the biggest threat to their own survival.

The story itself is not extremely different from some [insert cannibalistic humanoid here] ideology that you have read before, but actually, it is quite different in the way it is portrayed. Extremely. At the beginning you will not think it is your typical cannibal clan plot, and the “typical” plot points that are portrayed are actually putting you on other people’s point of view. You won’t sympathize with the enemy, you will be the enemy and feel the pain of being the hunter too.

They really put a lot of 3D sound into it. I’d give that more than the animation because sometimes they censor almost everything on the screen. 10 /10 for sounds. The music tracks were ok, there was one track that was distinctive, the opening is quite cool, and the instruments used were fine. I’d give music an 8/10.

The animation gets 4/10 comparatively and artstyle gets a good 7/10. Although the animation isn’t repetitive or failing in any way, it doesn’t compare to the innovative styles used in the production of Tokyo Ghoul itself. This is bound to change when the uncensored version comes out, really.

The plot gets a good 9/10 for having factions that aren’t too cultist, but there really should have been the main focus of the story. I’d prefer the story on a bigger rather than on a personal level, even though it was portrayed perfectly from one faction’s perspective.

That said, the overall score has to lose because of the sadly inappropriate and random “fanservice” that makes it appeal to a “male” demographic (seriously who even likes distractions from the plot anyway) that the world of anime in general would do without. Overall 7/10 for censorship and fanservice.

If you are looking for something similar, there is Kiseijuu that is currently airing, and hey, it has dubstep at the core of the best scenes, but it has even more “fanservice” so watch at your own risk. Although it isn’t as dark as Tokyo Ghoul, but it sure is kissing up to it so bad that it’s worth the watch!

Tokyo Ghoul made me start watching anime again after I gave up on anime entirely. I do not know about you, but that means something. I watched Shiki entirely because I couldn’t wait between each episode and another. If Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titan shape a new genre, then it’ll be the rules of that genre that are shaped in Tokyo Ghoul.

My complaints on that imperfect genre is to stop talking to only one gender and stop the useless fanservice. Protagonists should be women, romance doesn’t need to exist, and censorship for violent scenes should stop existing too because “fanservice” brings the rating up to M+ anyway, so why censor blood?????? #logic

Tokyo Ghoul No-spoilers Review

The plot gets a good 9/10 for having factions that aren’t too complicated, being extremely unexpected, having a majority of psycho cast for the first time in modern anime in a satisfying amount. Trying not to say any more would be spoilers.

However overall it’s only 7/10 because of horribly unnecessary fanservice. I was going to drop it, although luckily they are few and predictable. Be warned, and also, don’t mind the beginning of the first episode. I’ll keep this short not to ruin the short season. Don't read any further if you do not want spoilers.

Tell me your opinion about the last and totally different episode of Tokyo Ghoul. Wasn’t it really a calm climax?

Why Attack on Titan Revolutionised Anime Entirely

Why Attack on Titan Revolutionised Anime Entirely

You liked it. You watched it twice. You bought the figurines and the manga. You told all your friends about it. You printed the survey corps design on your jumper and wore it every day. Ever stopped to think why this anime held so much of a place in your heart?

Actually, this anime has not only influenced you, and all of the audience. This anime has potential to shake the entire entertainment industry and bend its rules. Even though it hasn’t yet.

First off, this anime starts with westernised theme: from clothing to naming, at first glance it seems like a typical anime aimed at audiences outside Japan. But with the introduction of their new mob of zombies, everything takes a whole new level.

I believe the main thing with Shingeki no Kyojin is that it doesn’t hesitate to kill off a main character even though that may seem less elaborate on the manga, this anime is the only one that I know of so far that has been able to pull that easily and successfully, leaving you to create the emotions yourself rather than having a lot of extended screen time of repeating the same scene over and over to induce the grieving of the characters over one’s death to the viewer.
image from here

Attack on Titan shamelessly destroys have its cast on each episode in real time. Let’s assume for a moment, that you were in the survey corps during the first unexpected titan attack. That you were one of the people who ran out of supplies and needed to go to the building swarmed by Titans just to get the gas for your escape. Now, Eren, Mikasa, Jean – your classmates, are “main characters” to you, right? That still does not mean that this is the perfect time for flashbacks since someone (your friend who is the center of those flashbacks) is about to die in this episode. During a time where you really needed to stay on high alert for quick reflex actions, it would seem irrational for you to start remembering things (for the sake of the viewer) and what a coincidence it is that Eren got eaten just when you remembered the time when he stepped on your paper boat! Because during the time when a titan is so close to you both, you just had to remember your childhood grudge on the “main character” that was about to die, and realize how foolish that was to not give him his share of cake as a punishment, right? And you didn’t feel any adrenaline rush because the people who made the anime are not ready to give up a main character so easily, no?

If this paragraph above really happened, then the fourth wall (you, bonus points if you are a girl with a Roman name) is very distant from the actual real time battle between the survey corps and the titans. Sadly, the assumption above is what happens with most anime, including long ones like Hunter x Hunter 2011, Naruto, Fairy Tail, One Piece, Bleach, Detective Conan, etc. These anime have always been known for success because they do not kill the main cast, and keep increasing and investing emotions into the protagonists’ personality so they’d all look like the role models, idols, and heroes of the viewers.

But the viewers can never replace these main characters, or actually be with them in a canonical appearance. However, with Attack on Titan, the characters are actually there, no sudden moments of random emotions flowing, because in real life, nobody is a bland useless high schooler with no dreams (modern day setting anime stereotypes), but at the same time, nobody is a peacock with wings of infinite traits, who grows new traits to match the modern culture. These soldiers are human beings, each have their moments, their weaknesses, like we do. And if you were actually on a rooftop, the only thing you’d see of your friend is his kicking legs as the titan gobbles him up, then your pupil would widen in shock for a millisecond, before another scream behind you makes you look forward and press on with your maneuver gear. That is exactly what every other character does; not because they do not care about their comrade, but because they need to press on right now. The sun is boiling their shoulders with all that leather jacket on, and the air from the titans is just giving their bodies more energy to feel the situation and grieve later than stand there without a scratch nor a bruise.

Speaking of bruises, they do not roll up their sleeves and raise their arms to show the world that they got hurt while working; since everybody is in the same situation, people change and don’t have to tell the viewer about it. Remember how Reeves was a selfish person but also held his own ideals close and took Levi’s side? The author does not need to explain how people change with every character, like the unexplained reason as to why Annie trained Eren and gave him a chance to learn more about himself. It’s like how an atom will remain an atom regardless of whether you understand it or not. This is how the world works, and how it was portrayed beautifully in Isayama’s work.

This explanation might make Attack on Titan look realistic i.e. boring. But actually this realism is what puts you before the fourth wall and know more about the characters. Even some soldiers that are weak willed survived so far for a reason. Eren’s life is not only there to fascinate you, but it’s there because he wants to live and fulfill his dream of eliminating the titans.

So instead of looking at role models, you look at people that you can relate to, and not high schoolers. Simply put, Attack on Titan is brave enough to let go of potentially useful characters and leave you to reflect on it on your own, trusting that you will get the emotions they imply.

That said, why hasn’t the series influenced new anime yet? Why is the new male stereotyping consistent in new anime and the same boring personalities used over and over? Publishers still doubt that going out of the mainstream style will profit them, so they are waiting to see how many years Attack on Titan will survive. However, I do hope that the manga continues its own and does not fall into fanservice. Even the awesome-looking Tokyo ghoul will not be able to rise as much as Attack on Titan because it relied on using methods of success that are already out there: i.e. fanservice. If Isayama-san really decides to end Attack on Titan quickly, that will kill a great series, but that would protect it from becoming like Case Closed is now.

Do you agree that Attack on Titan is a game changer? Do you believe that killing the protagonists should be used increasingly in the future? Tell us below, and Play More Zelda!

Black Butler season 1 review

Black Butler Review

This 24-episode of season one of Black Butler, or kuroshitsuji, made by Square Enix sure spreads like wildfire. Luckily, I haven’t been set ablaze but all of my friends have and this review is more like my reply to their urging and requesting of me to watch it.

I don’t hate it of course, but the bad is way more than the good in this anime. First let’s start with the main thing I’d like to question the fans:

Why is anime with so much Western elements that it is even set in London becoming this popular? If I wanted to go look at medieval Europe, I’d go watch a European movie. Yet I go to the Easternmost country in the globe to watch about the West? My point is that I am against the invasion of Western elements all over anime and games. Even in attack on titan, they have English names. Sure, Fullmetal Alchemist had many western elements too, but it wasn’t all that. I am against the genre in general and rarely watch it, but for it to get this overrated: wow. I’m confused.

my possible third favorite character.

My two favorite characters? Griell and Undertaker. After that there is no third position. Why? This anime is really popular among girls, so it obviously some yaoi. That’s no question. Let’s see, we’ve got Sebestian and Ciel, Griell and Sebestian, and some others which I did not care about. There is, as you guessed, a good-looking butler and a clumsy maid, as well as a blonde boy with hairclips. The character development sure lacks, as either all of it happened before the anime, behind the scenes, and etc. One big downfall is that Ciel’s face as well as many others shows fewer emotions than a brick. So almost every episode does not build or destroy anything, excluding the climax episodes. Although the main characters should be mad men, there are no mental breakdowns, nor are there any exaggerated grieving scenes, which I wanted to see.

image from here, maybe

Next is the plot. As I mentioned above, the plot is made so every episode looks like the one before it, comparing to shows like That’s So Raven and Zack and Cody. However there is a plot. Here’s my non-spoiler summary:
In medieval Britain, one spoiled brat with a pirate get up decides to kill people he doesn’t even know. A good looking kind-yet-evil man helps him exact his revenge. This man is tied to the red string of fate with a guy using a chainsaw. Who will this love triangle favor?
Alright I did exaggerate myself, but the amount of internet talk about this is massive! Sebestian even buttons his shirt and makes him wear the ring! That’s a lot of work for a butler, though I haven’t really seen one, and it was quite understandable where SPOILER1 happens, although it was for a different reason.
Overall I think the plot would’ve been better if they focused on it. There were too few Griell and Undertaker scenes for me to be satisfied. Also, there is a huge amount of fillers at the beginning (Undertaker and Griell being two of them, slightly), although some of them eventually turn into plot points. Seriously the story could do without the sadistic humor, and it needs more blood scenes and fewer scenes of the clumsy staff and stupid inhabitants of the Phantomhive house. There are whole episodes without a single blood scene! That’s a waste of youth.
a redhead, with long hair, and a long metal weapon. What's to not like about him?

Sorry, but I did not like the music too much, only a few tracks were nice, but the “HAAAAaaaaaa hs” song was disturbing, and made me turn the volume down and read the subtitles, guessing who said what. There were a few tracks that had this awesome feeling, one of them having a sad and satisfactorily dark feeling to it. The opening was from SID! I really like the singer’s voice as I’ve heard it a lot before.

Now for the artstyle. I am really picky about this, and let me say; only Sebestian looked good. The artstyle isn’t bad at all, in fact, Dangan Ronpa and many new anime are copying it, but it sure is new and Ciel doesn’t always look good in it. Griell looks fabulous as always, of course; no question about that.

Overall, I’d give it 6/10. Remember this is just season one of the anime so I did not compare it with the manga, nor season two.
Play More Zelda!

Spoiler1: when he starts frowning and actually left him when he was outside London. He was mad probably because of the fact that he didn’t end his revenge when he got the ultimate chance. Regardless of reasons, it was the right thing to do.

Futari Wa Milky Holmes Review

Anime Review: Futari wa Milky Holmes

As if the series wasn’t weird enough. They had to go and make a side story with actually a progressing plot. I noticed that on the internet people say it destroyed the series. While I do have my own complaints on this season, there are reasons why this anime is a great addition to the series.

First, let’s start with the main characters. Kazumi was a good protagonist; her friend Alice was downright plain. Even Kazumi can be considered a little slow at the start, but then again she is the one who lifts off the entire plot. Alice, on the other hand, had a good look, transformation, toys, and voice, but her personality lacked and lagged a lot. She was just the ordinary, shy, polite girl who leaves the thinking to other people. If it wasn’t for Kazumi, they would’ve never even begun the series. If it wasn’t for her amazing toys, she’d get a zero. 1/10 for Alice and 5/10 overall (let’s not talk about spoilers in such a small anime.)

Why 5/10 ? There are a great bunch of characters that appear later on. Especially two certain braided creatures that have a really good background and perfectly twisted personalities. The reason why it doesn't get more is because some really good character slots never even showed up. They would've made more room for epic battles and crazy personalities, as there really was some crazy people and liars in the anime, but they only got one or two short scenes, and no fighting. You could only guess that it might’ve even been as huge as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood with an extremely twisted plot, but the short time sadly ended the story way too soon.

Moving on to my biggest complaint in this season: the TIME! Only twelve “episodes”, each one being only 12 minutes! WHY? I wanted more, and I think if this season had a more open ending then it could’ve been possible that the series will prove itself more and more. Plot’s too short.

Next is the plot itself. It doesn't have that much comedy, which is a plus due to being a first in the series. Anymore said would spoil anything, so I’ll leave the last part for the spoilers. I give it 8/10 for being awesome.

What else is there to talk about? The unique toys, a heroine with a bow and arrow, and the list goes on. The world itself feels different in a great and unique way. (Easter egg spoiler) Phantom Thief Empire appear as the cool allies of justice too.

Overall I give this season a 7/10. It has good music, good opening, good artstyle (as is the rest of the series), but loses points for time and trying to pack it all in that time.

Senyuu Review

Senyuu review
this is a picture not a video, did i trick you?

Senyuu 戦勇。 is this new anime that came out this year, and is already into episode 5 of its season 2. Each episode is quite short, e.g. 4 minutes at most, also don’t forget that the ending is included. I guess it’s genre would be: comedy/ action / fantasy / Zelda-likelike / (I should stop making up genres here)
is that vaati back there?

The setting feels like some old dragon ball setting, with many dungeon-crawler RPG references, making it one of the most enjoyable things I watch each day. If you take it from a serious standpoint, you could say that it discusses the reality of having a real life Zelda-like adventure everyday with so many other heroes like you. I love the hero + Demon Lord plot.
Whoops, any more and this little story will be all revealed. Just kidding, there does seem to be a complex plot coming up unexpectedly, and some stupid characters suddenly turn smart and realistic logic suddenly sneaks in. That aside, Here is a “review”, although I really do not want to number it…

so many jokes

Seriously though, each episode should've been longer, maybe that would open more possibilities, but it is really funny, and I don’t want to number the review this time around.
one requirement for a good anime is the LED eye! I love this "evil intentions" eye

If you liked cuticle tantei inaba's and angel beats' bloody jokes, these also have more of them than angel beats
so true if games were real!
So i guess that I will stop here in order to leave a lot for you. Although I had more screenshots and I should've made this longer.
Overall I would recommend this 8/10 of the time, because it isn't finished yet. Play More Zelda!

Hyper Japan Has Nintendo

Hyper Japan has Nintendo

For the first time, Nintendo will appear in UK's most biggest J-culture event.
This is a kind of weird and short article, but if you go to their main website you can see a "dont forget to bring you 3DS" sign
that is good news and all, and I hope i can get a good inside scoop on Nintendo's convention there, but no guarantees whether I will be going or not. Stay tuned for some close minecraft updates, which I will post the summary right here:
  • Added almost all blocks, all items from previous texture pack to the 1.6.1 version.
  • changed most of the redstone entities.
  • began the GUI, but probably not add it to the next texture pack update until it is all themed properly.
  • Squidwards talk? and complain about damage? what?
Stay tuned for more! Soon I will be able to finish all of my initial list. I am aware that 1.6.2 is out, but first i have to focus on what I have already started.

Anime Review: Cuticle Tantei Inaba

Cuticle Tantei Inaba review
 kei is adorable

My anime review of Cuticle Detective Inaba is up, because there is not much episodes and it is recent so hoping for another season isn’t far off. Without further ado, here is to why and why not you should like this anime and wait for the new season.
he is excited about.. well.. shampoo

First, here is a little spoiler-less explanation: The story revolves around a werewolf detective and how he tackles enemies along with the police. However there is a lot of humour, which still does not remove the main plot. There is a lot of fandom there, or fetish, over cute animals. That shouldn’t include goats, right? (Despite them being my favorite domestic animal since childhood)

Story = 8/10
only twelve episodes, but they are so enjoyable

The story is very good, although it advances a little fast, but it is easy to catch up. The plot is actually very serious and sad, but there is a lot of good humour, making the anime fun to watch. Sure, there might be slightly bad jokes, but they are very easy to ignore. The story also loses score because sometimes the humour gets in between reality, and rarely, they are also hard to distinguish. But actually it almost the perfect mix between chibi and serious characters. There should really be more episodes with this kind of advancement in plot. It is extremely fun to watch.

we always want these scenes
Music = 9.5/10

It doesn’t have to be my favourite type of music to actually gain score, as it fitted the mood amazingly, and the opening was the best I ever heard. The BGM is very essential and it didn’t fail at all. No complaints here.

Artstyle = 9/10
mixture of serious and chibi. cute :3

Yes they do get serious as much as they don’t, in terms of artstyle. They have the best of both worlds. Especially bonus points to the fact that the extremely detailed form does not ruin the mood or animation at all, unlike some anime. I would’ve given it 10/10, but sometimes Yuuta’s face is hard to understand with his extreme emotion.

 Voice Acting = 9/10
yuzuki Ogata is so cute and dreamy

I am not complaining about the way they act; there was a lot of yelling and the commenting Kei moments weren’t annoying at all, but rather they choose a weird group. The main character, Hiroshi Inaba, had the voice actor Junichi Suwabe, who is nice and all. But here is the problem: I first heard him as Tseng, from Crisis Core. And let me tell you I really hate Tseng. Thus, for some reason, I never learn to love any character that Mr. Suwabe voice acts. Even when he was Greed in the first season of Fullmetal Alchemist, I kind of liked Greed, but there was that invisible barrier. Sorry, this review is based on opinion, maybe if I didn’t watch Crisis Core I would’ve not had any problems. The voice actors are good but previous roles got to me, and I know it is my problem.

Overall: 8.8/10
he considers himself a dog, and it isn't bad to be a "dog of the military" in this anime as much

I don’t know what happened to drop this score: that is what the calculator said. Anyway, this is almost my first anime review so please understand that it may be biased. Most importantly, I only review things I like, since it is a hobby that is why I am reviewing about it only because I am recommending you all to watch. I would surely buy the manga when I do get a chance. Now scroll down if you want to hear my spoiler opinions. There is nothing non-spoiler below it, so don’t scroll if you haven’t watched:

SPOLER SPOILER

Seriously I hate police, reality, games, or anime, but this anime is another one which lets me give them a soft spot, for now. I think the whole wolf-human think, which sprouts hatred in Don Valentino, is completely sad. Why is that goat racist? He must be angry at himself for hating wolves in an unfair way when he had to part with Akiyoshi. They are human, but it even displays them having no shame to be treated like dogs. I guess that deep feelings around the story are what really make it a fantastic anime, which is really worth fangirling. I used to hate dogs, now I completely feel the opposite. However, I still have that crazy obsession with cats, like Kei. The hairstyle and artstyle are amazing too. That is what I really feel about it, and overall I would’ve given it a 9/10. Play More Zelda!

Delay

Unfortunetly I will not be able to post much until the summer starts, so here is a little farewell. for this I will show you my favourite female characters that will make me have to make my avatar a guy in the next playthrough

Then I want to tell you that Fire Emblem has the coolest soundtracks and my two favourite were destiny and destiny ablaze (ironically, I like ablaze more) also it is a little sad that my Say'ri can't support with Libra although I think they are similar. I am not a match maker but still their interests and goals are mutual. I don't understand why Henry is a rebel from such a powerful army but he is a great addition to the army as he reminds me of one of my childhood favourite characters:

then comes the reason why I want this game to be real. First it is good that there are some girl-only classes and boy-only classes which makes sense really. When Libra introduced himself as a war monk, he gave me hope to bring Lissa up to the front lines as a war cleric. I extremely love the class system. I love the stat system. I love the weapon system and the probability algorithm (although it gets cruel sometimes). I love the hidden skills like lethality for assassins and vengeance for sorcerers, as well as others (let's not mention my deadly ignis or the super-handy Astra)

The hardest thing is obtaining weapons. I did finish the game, but i was never able to forge, because I hardly have any cash anyway! I am running short on Levin swords and Alm blades, which are good with trickster classes for some reason. Also beast Killers and Armoslayers are hardly having a chance to shine because they break before I can forge. Honestly I have never forged in the entire playthrough of the game, ever! What a sad truth, but I heard it is really handy.

If I was in reality a fire emblem character, I guess my class would be a trickster, a dark flier, or a myrmidon. I know they don't match, but using losing a few stats is a good price to pay to be able to open chests, use tomes AND use swords. Being weak to arrows is but nothing compared to the high move value, heck if you train them in a former class well they will already have high defence and stuff so they serve as reliable transportation methods. As for Myrmidon, it is for the skill and because Lyn in this game is also a Myrmidon (yes I do this for good looks) but maybe I wouldn't be one. Oh well.

Just as a side note, my favourite character in Haruhi Suzumiya is Itsuki Koizumi. Especially during his class' performance in the art festival he was wearing something that reminded me of Rath from fire emblem GBA, and that was his cutest get up. Not only does he look super cute on normal occasions, this was just even more cute.

Worst thing about the art festival is the crowd are exactly like me in the reason why they came to watch this:

We can all ignore Kyon. As usual.

Sorry about the lack of updates of the texture pack, but even the steve skin isn't perfect anymore. I don't know when I will be done with it but it is a lot of work. I will try to get it done with in the summer ASAP.

However my summer life is over before it began due to Kingdom Hearts 3D. I play Kingdom Hearts only in summer vacation because it is too addictive. I injured my hand twice when playing 365/2 days. Really! Anyway have fun and Play More Zelda!

The strategist is a job of the past times (like Zelda setting assuming that fairies and demons and Hylians etc. existed) Nowadays you don’t see the strategist that was defined from the past normally.
Mulan is a movie that has no tactics but pure strategy

A strategist is often mistaken to be a tactician, because everybody who plays strategy games are actually playing the role of a tactician not a strategist. Why? This is answered by the definition of the strategist: “Military strategy deals with the planning and conduct of campaigns, the movement and disposition of forces, and the deception of the enemy.”
This is a strategical viewpoint.

The strategist doesn’t actually have to go into battle, but he rather decides which forces go, what weapons they take, and which route they take, but the strategist himself does not go into battle. He organizes the battle, but doesn’t conduct it. To make it simpler, compare the above Wikipedia definition with this one: “Military tactics, the science and art of organizing a military force, are the techniques for using weapons or military units in combination for engaging and defeating an enemy in battle
some games mix a few elements of tactics in their strategy game and succeed. Rise Of Nations is pretty cool.

As you see the tactician is the one who actually is present on the battle field. But the strategist still has an important and vital role. A strategist would decide who would go where, and without this, a tactician wouldn’t succeed. That’s why you usually find more tacticians than strategists, because for strategy you don’t need more than a few people but for tactics you need a lot, just in case one dies in the battlefield.

So does this mean a strategist gets more status than a tactician? Yes it is. And does that also mean some facebook “games” are actually considered strategy? Unfortunately, yes it is. Because you aren’t really dealing with the inner detail of battle, all you do is just choose what are the materials you will spend on which, and where will that go. But in the battlefield of serious games you don’t really control the soldiers because you are a strategist not a tactician. Imperium gives a perfect example of strategy and inventory management. It seems in this game that to the strategist collected loot and death of soldiers seems an uncontrolled variable, or it’s “by chance”. A strategist still has a huge weight on his/her shoulders. But the strategist works on a large scale, and that’s what makes his work even more hard yet look less tiring. He isn’t the one who has to travel and fight all the time. Yet with those words alone it is the truth that the training of a strategist is overlapping with that of a tactician’s, and a good strategist must obviously know the art of war in the battlefield and not just from outside, especially before the invention of technology and cameras.
I really enjoyed this mini game

Although a strategist is not the job I really would ever take if I had a time gate to the fantasy past, but I believe a strategist is a honest and honorable job to take. Although it may not be in Zelda games and it is partially expressed in a side quest in Final Fantasy Seven, it would be a good job to take for some of us.
This is a tactical viewpoint. This isn't real strategy.

Since I don’t have time for the Nintendo Direct, here is the link. A new article should be up soon about it, but I am a little busy lately, sorry. Play More Zelda!

The "link" between Yugioh and Zelda

Correlation between Zelda and Yugioh

It is not uncommon to find a Zelda fan that likes Yugioh. But why especially yugioh? Why not bakuman, beblade or all these other things that 4kids grouped together? Well, we all realize that Japanese Yugioh is no way for kids, but does it resemble Zelda? Read on to find out!

Actually, explaining all that is to Yugioh that relates to Zelda or vice versa would take forever, so I will be watching the anime and uncover it bit by bit. I bet those of you who enjoy yugioh as a change of pace from Zelda games find various differences than yugioh. But somehow the atmosphere sort of connects each other. There are a few monster cards that look like Link, while others that look like Octoroks and such. This may be a coincidence, but why should it be? After all, Zelda came before the Yugioh anime, so it does sort of make sense.

Speaking of time order, there may be opposite occasions. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time was released in the year 1998, meanwhile the original yugioh manga was since 1996 until 2004, which proves that Anju is the one that is based on Anzu, not the opposite. Yugioh developers were the ones that made Anzu have short reddish hair and tall figure, not to mention that she is kind and helpful, yet kind of quiet. This especially matches her in Majora’s Mask, when she doesn’t talk too much about her troubles and in Ocarina Of Time when she helps the chickens she is allergic to.

Do you also agree on the similarities? Or do you find it teasing? Either way, I hope you enjoyed.
