A gift from my brother

Today is a little off topic, but my brother got me two gifts, the first is a 3DS game etrian odessey 4, and a mushroom cherry sour. I am very happy that I decided to post this on the mobile version instead of glorifying the post on computer.
I will not post pictures of the box of the 3DS games because I usually add them to the shelf. Fire emblem awakening, which I love, I actually only saw the box art twice. Once when I was in the shop, and the latter when i was unboxing.
That is why the mushroom sweets are very cute because they add up to my Mario collection of geekery. I have almost every Mario limited edition thing, and Zelda too. I will not throw away this metal mushroom! He already got me the mushroom 3DS headphones when I just bought Ocarina Of Time 3D, and luckily they all match up with my 3DS colour.

Walkthrough

Walkthrough
Luckily for us, AmyMina97 decided to make a walkthrough of the game I made. Better yet, she even offered help for the next game I will be making. Although I shouldn't be revealing too much since it is too early for talking about it (this game took me two years, the next one should be closer to being an RPG than the last so it will take more time) She already posted part one and recorded part two
I am very excited to see more of her work!
Play More Zelda! I know this article is short, but I don't know what to put.

Best of March 2013

Best Of March 2013
March officially marks the beginning of spring. That's especially the reason why we should buy more turnip seeds everyone! However the internet has only Minecraft seeds, or at least seed I know of. How about cookies, or fishermen? They are unlimited supply ( I myself used to go phishing) it's lots of fun to go and do your hobbies under the spring sun.
But this is the internet. A world where the sun never rises, never sets. A place created by binary logic and held in place by servers. Lets cut down the philosophy and get to the best websites I found when I was picking flowers yesterday!
Best Youtube User:
Though she hasn't uploaded much, she is a really nice person. I still do have complaints over her choice of games, but, the Sims aside, she knows a lot about glitches in games. She is a gamer who likes popular games (which I do not like, yes I can be anti-mainstream) and her video have good quality. You have to see the channel.
Best blog:
While s/he hasn't posted since a while, this blog has a lot of useful information. Useful for me, at least. The 3D game art posted helps me with my 3D modeling (I am a little bit of a novice) and this is a good place to see. My complaint still stand that I hate facebook-styled endless pages. I don't like endless pages!! But that aside, I enjoyed surfing this site. Moura is really good with 3D modeling and textures.
Best Flash Game:
An easy game with few penalties, this game from Miniclip is funny if you haven't tried it. Not very new but Next time it will definetly be something from Nitrom that is cool. By the way, have you tried Mutiny from Nitrom yet? It's old, but you must.
Best MMORPG:
While not new, the servers came back, so I finally got to play this cute Korean game. If you want to try it, just remember that if you don't know what a "seal" is (like me) don't open those boxes in your inventory when the time comes, they took up too much of my inventory space. Why play this game, you ask? Well I watched Lucky Star and it's OVA, so this is it's closest relative and the voice of my character sounds like Kuroi sensei.
Best Android Game:
I like this game because I have an android and, like my beloved DS, has multiplayer. Some multiplayer android games are dumb, like board games or table hockey (I like table hockey) but with this game, something like a pokemon game on android may not seem far off. But that's not the only reason why I like this game. Why don't you check it out yourself and try it? It's amazing
Best ipad/iphone game:
A fine game. I was going to choose Bastion but this is the one that was more fun. If you are not familiar with this Ninja Kiwi series, just think of strategy defence games without blood. I normally hate monkeys but this is funny. If you are familiar with the series, the upgrades and ranks have all new abilities. Must not miss!
That's it for this time. I hope to see you next month when there will, hopefully be more smartphone news in stock. I am not very satisfied with the newly released Samsung Galaxy S4, to be honest, but you can check out the specifications here.

New Game

New Game
I made a game using game maker 8.1 lite. It is not fascinatingly good, but I wanted to share it anyway.
It is a maze game. So basically this game uses a few pre-made sprites and stuff but I made a lot more sprites. The beautiful sound effects from my first Zelda game is there.
The reason why I began developing in the first place is to try to make a game without using JavaScript and xml. This game took me two years to finish yet it is not as long as it should be.
I sware to God that it is possible to complete every single level. I am not one of those people who make impossible levels on purpose. I might even make a walkthrough to prove it.
The game is around 80+levels, plus some normal nonrelated maps that are not actually puzzles. There are four worlds in the game, which are:
1- Cave
2- Volcano
3- Cakeland ??
4- Sinister Laboratory
Be sure to try it yourself. Here is the download link.
Oh and the Bluecomet Team? That my team. I am the leader and you may also me Zola, as you saw on my previous post
Play More Zelda! and press F1 for credits.

Fire Emblem: Awakening Review

Fire Emblem: Awakening Review

After losing track of time and having sleepless nights, I finally finished this game, and pretty much shocked and disappointed. Disappointed because I wish the game was real and I had actually gone on such a cool adventure, and shocked because the two endings sprout some questions. Now I wouldn’t be going into spoilers just yet, so first we will start with a review of this T-rated 3DS new game.

Story: 9.5/10: A perfect story, makes complete sense, has “SPOILER1” like Zelda. I have no complaints. At the beginning the story advances in an easy pace so that even if you’re not exactly familiar with anything you will pick up the pace quickly. The truth is, I only played a few of this series. Yet I love it. Not as much as Zelda, of course. It loses a tiny bit of score because it suddenly advances near the end a little bit faster than it used to, and that was sudden. But you can’t blame the fact that this game must be too big. The fact that you can download the rest of the story as free paralogues proves that this game is too big. The weird thing is that you can only play all of them when you access the last chapter, and also the fact that they are not done yet (download one weekly) makes waiting so hard. Although that doesn’t ruin the story, and in fact makes it so that there is more to the game than what you thought you finished, it is not entirely a good thing.
I love this style of the game/ remind me of spirit track's Bryne.

Gameplay: 10/10: The weapon Triforce has a lot of new quirks and becomes so much better, that forcing your way against the concentration gradient becomes possible from the beginning of the game, and also makes the game much better. Also there is this really cool feature that makes you fight in pairs in two ways: either the two allies are in adjacent spaces to each other, or one ally is being rescued, or in this case paired up, with another ally, so they take up one space. It is really good.

I managed to make up more strategies with these new mechanics. Rare staves aren’t such a trouble anymore (in a way or another). One might be able to change the entire army into a squad of archers, for example. Or become some sort of bandits, then when bored might make everybody into sorcerers, provided they have that much second seals and master seals. The best thing is that you get this freedom quite quickly, when at least you realized that somebody maxed out. Well, if it doesn’t suit you, rest assured, you can keep your low level rogues and sort things out with my streetpass team.

Menu, Optional goodies, Wifi: 8/10: The menu is hilarious, There are many challenges scattered, spotpass old characters, DLCs, and streetpass too. My complaint is: “Nintendo Y u no bring wifi battles like Pokemon?”

Excuse the grammar, and realize how there is sort of a possibility that we battle with our streetpass teams without being in local play in the Ferox arena. Let’s assume this person bought the game and does not have any friends, so s/he never got to know what a double duel is, and wanted to have pokemon-like battles (there is sort of something like EV training here). Why can’t I show the entire world how well my characters are trained?

Re-playability: 10/10: The Avatar Logbook helps a lot. Three save files and two in-match saves. You can summon avatars from the other save files once you have registered them onto your Logbook. Streetpass, Spotpass, and DLC characters are the same issue. This really makes the game good to repeat, also the challenges and the fact that you can skip pretty much everything is also a plus. Perfect.

RPG features: 10/10: Perfect. You can carry five items but Chrom and characters near him can access the convoy and trading helps make a “link”. Items that permanently increase your stats are best gotten that way, and spare swords are not an extreme emergency anymore. There are many things that can be written here.

Difficulty: Moderate. Like the tides of the sea, normal difficulty may seem moderate to easy, and on most occasions, hard. It is because a new chapter suddenly requires higher levels, and you have to depend on challenges, which appear after some time flows in the real world. This meant trouble for me who kept the 3DS open the entire time, so I had to rush through the missions to finish the game (grab my lords into safer units and dash for the boss). I highly do NOT recommend you to do this; instead you should try to level up and take on the hordes of enemies. The DLCs did me justice, and they could help you too.
Lyn's spotpass team is harder the stronger you get!

By the way Champions of Yore are not good if you get them late in the game. They are extremely useful at the beginning. There is a DLC that gets you two extra classes, but I forgot which it is. Although it was part two of something. And it is not Champions of Yore. Try Lost Bloodlines. Maybe.

Graphics: 9/10: The 3DS had potential; the cutscenes used them well, as well as the 3D avatar that is present in more than you can remember. The anime-styled portraits are good too. The only problem is that it was evident that this game could do more. Now I am not saying that I do not like the 2D sprites on the map: in fact, I love them. The reason why it lost score is because of the non-important “SPOILER2” reason. You really do not need to know if you haven’t played. By the way if you put the 3D on and lower the brightness even the map becomes amazing. I can only give you one hint about “SPOILER2”, and that is that I wear glasses, and even when the 3D is off, some maps looks fuzzy; Two, to be exact.

Music: 10/10: I cannot give this game any less. Damn Fire Emblem for making me love old fashioned style. It is so heroic, and so nice. I am not that good in music tastes, but I normally listen to rock (for some absurd reason), Fire Emblem broke the line completely. (It was not like there was a line to begin with, but anyway) I love how the music switched from the normal one into the battle one just like Super Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword.

Overall: 9.5/10: If there is anything it needed, it is the speed in the spotpass maps. It is a perfect game. The weapon Triforce is a little differently confusing at the beginning, but this game has a lot of freedom and awesomeness. I can’t imagine a 3DS without one.

Now for the spoilers I mentioned above. Don’t read if you don’t want any spoilers!

SPOILER1: alternate timelines, parallel worlds, and time travelling concepts.

SPOILER2: the first map is the one with many mountains and cliffs. It makes me dizzy. The second one is the last map on the dragon scales. The way they are just like hemispheres but the map should still be “flat” is terribly confusing.

Play More Zelda!
lyn's spotpass team was the only large obstacle my character ever met. I was just training her with lances (she can still use ordinary magic) and suddenly things got serious!! As you can see I am not dead, but dancing with my Pegasus named...

Minecraft Update

Minecraft Update
The pre-release of 1.5 is available for download, and that puts my texture pack way back. as you can see in the change log, every item and block is now in a separate picture file.
This means that there needs to be more work done, and more work takes more time! I am not complaining, because the good thing is that once I am done with putting my old texture pack like this, changing any block or item would be easier because I don't have to worry about crossing the border of another item. Although I will kind of miss the old way of making a texture pack, because then I have to edit block by block or else the picture-editing program will crash if I overload it with too many blocks at once. but it sure is good that things are more organized.
For some reason I cannot open minecraft with the pre release. I can edit the texture, of course, but it will take longer than usual. The only way I install updates is wait after it signs me in and then it updates, which only happens in official releases, not snapshots or pre-releases.
Oh well, nothing much to say today, I wanted to write a review of Fire Emblem: Awakening, but it seems too addicting to put down. That's why there is nothing much to include here. Play More Zelda!

Flesh, Zombie, Emerald Ore

Flesh, Zombie, Emerald Ore
Alright today I am back with a little lack of content over the last few days. Sorry about that. I was in complete shock that February is actually 28 days on normal occasions. I thought it was 29 ad 30 in leap years. That is why the February links was omitted because it was too late. Also I really didn't have time and in the near future I might not have any more time for the blog. I'll try as much as possible to keep things updated.
So today, I started with a humanoid mob, the zombie. It is quite easy to model him because he is just like Steve. Let's get digging.
Remember when I said that I wanted the Zombie to be the travelling salesman in harvest moon 64 who tries to sell you a rip off by telling you about high grade chicken feed and soap etc.?
Well I think the fact that he pursues you in the beginning of the morning and keeps insisting that he sells you random fake stuff is proof enough he should be a zombie in Minecraft. Maybe the only real thing he might "sell" to you this time is rotten flesh, or should I say Dog Food.
In Minecraft you need meat products to replenish the health of your dog (his tail indicates his health). While you can use other meat I think it is wise to reserve rotten flesh for your pet. Your choice, but take a look at the new zombie:
 welcome home guest

 walking around, huh?

 oh so scary!

 your hats are pretty flat

oh you hate the sun?

I still can't believe you want to kill me

so this guy actually sells part of his own body?

yeah the new hair

a hoard of zombies aren't very terrifying anymore

villager zombies and zombie pigmen were not changed

I don't know why I took this picture of the oh-so-famous zombie that is holding his "brother" or something

the oh-so-famous zombie looking to the side

a friend of the famous zombie. You get the idea

There was just a few modifications in the pictures because I changed the hat and hair a little bit. Moving on, a close up of the rotten flesh

And lastly I fixed a minor error in the emerald ore where part of the original texture of stone would somewhat appear on the ore:
Finally I would like to comment on some Harvest moon related changes in Minecraft, where the cows and sheep respond only to wheat, chickens respond to seeds, and pigs respond to carrots. It is a good and slightly bad change.
The good:
  • You can split the type of livestock you transport from place to another
  • Chicken care is now much simpler, just cut some tall grass and there you go, no need to plant and harvest
  • It helps to filter out the animals you put the fence around. Similar species go together.
  • In case you have cauldrons for realistic water for the animals, you can separate the chicken out so they don't stick in the cauldron while not taking away some of the cows and sheep
  • Realistic!!
The bad:
  • It may take a few trips while transporting your farm
  • Your can't travel around with the entire herd that you have at once.
  • There are a few bugs with the response of animals to the food. They suddenly forget that you are holding any food and move around normally. This especially happens when there is more than 4 animals dragging along.
  • You can't ride the pig, control him, while moving the other animals.
Personally I think the advantages are more important. I like this change except that the terrible bug that I have. Mojang, please fix it. Until next time, Play More Zelda!
